About the Author
Allen N. Mendler is an educator and school psychologist and lives in Rochester, New York. He has worked extensively with children of all ages in general and special education settings. He has consulted for many schools and day and residential centers throughout the world, providing training on classroom management, discipline, and motivating difficult students. As the coauthor of Discipline with Dignity (ASCD, 1999) and author of many other publications, Mendler's emphasis is on developing effective frameworks and strategies for educators, youth professionals, and parents to help students succeed.

Great reference for tough days

A quick read that's great for reference on those tough days. Covers strategies that can be used when you encounter difficult admin, policies you don't agree with, and overall negative building morale. I was able to read it in a couple hours, and have some highlights I know I will revisit come September.
