About the Author
Charlotte Danielson is an education consultant based in Princeton, New Jersey, and developed the framework for teaching. She has taught at all levels, from kindergarten through college, and has worked as an administrator, curriculum director, and staff developer in school districts in several regions of the United States. Danielson also served as a consultant to hundreds of school districts, universities, intermediate agencies, and state department of education in virtually every state and in many other countries. In her consulting work, she has specialized in aspects of teacher quality and evaluation, curriculum planning, performance assessment, and professional development. For several years she served on the staff of Educational Testing Service (ETS) and was involved in many signifi cant projects, including designing the assessor training program for Praxis III: Classroom Performance Assessments.

Danielson's work is now our guide for enhancing professional practice in our state.
Her rubric is every teacher's foundation for his/her classroom practice. This book is an excellent guide for a book study and would help any teacher develop better professional practice. Every principal needs to get this book and use it with his/her staff. As a Content Coach, I use the rubric as I visit classrooms in my Network. I recommend it highly!

"Implementing the Framework for Teaching in Enhancing Professional Practice" is a comprehensive resource for those who wish to align their professional practice, or assessment of practice instruments, to a well-respected framework describing professional effectiveness. Particularly helpful is the quality rubric provided, which gives clear descriptors and distinctions of levels of performance. I can see this being a really useful resource for the individual teacher who is going to be evaluated via Danielson, but personally found most informative the consistent distinction between the "proficient" and "distinguished" categories. This emphasis was particularly helpful for my needs as an administrator, who is working on revising my university's teacher candidate evaluation system.
Everyone seems to be jumping on board with Danielson's model, and this book will help to facilitate making those changes for personally, or for your school district or university. Amazon offered the book at a competitive price, and delivered it in a timely manner.
